About GeninWorld
GeninWorld is an end-to-end product studio for startups. We handle strategy, design, development, and AI integration—one partner, complete products, zero gaps. Our clients are startup founders who need a trusted technical partner to build their first product or scale their platform.
The Role
As a Business Development Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for startups looking to build their products. You'll qualify leads, understand their technical needs, and connect them with our team. This isn't cold calling—it's consultative selling to founders who already know they need help.
What You'll Do
- Respond to inbound leads from our website, social media, and referrals within 24 hours.
- Conduct discovery calls with startup founders to understand their product vision, technical needs, and timeline.
- Qualify opportunities based on fit (stage, budget, scope) and schedule meetings with our project leads.
- Manage outreach campaigns to startups in our target industries (fintech, healthtech, edtech, SaaS).
- Maintain accurate records in our CRM and follow up consistently without being pushy.
- Collaborate with our team to understand our capabilities and communicate them clearly to prospects.
- Attend startup events, demo days, and networking sessions to build relationships in the ecosystem.
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management (preferably in tech or agencies).
- Genuine interest in startups and understanding of their challenges (bonus if you've worked at or with startups).
- Comfortable with technical conversations—you don't need to code, but you should understand what React, APIs, and AI integration mean.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Self-motivated and organized—you'll manage your own pipeline and follow-ups.
- Located in Nairobi or comfortable working remotely in a similar timezone.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling software development, design, or consulting services.
- Connections in the East African startup ecosystem.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Pipedrive, etc.).
- Understanding of agile development, product management, or UX design.
